SoleSense

Engraved line drawing of SoleSense R07 (full CAD assembly). Moving the pointer over the drawing, or the Show in colour button, reveals the true-colour model.

Demo · Press the head and watch the magnet slide past the sensor.

Interactive demo of the R07 design: while held, the carriage, magnet and filament cartridge slide toward the handle, past the fixed Hall sensor. Hold the button, or hold Space or Enter while it has focus.

The idea & the why

A handheld instrument for exploring pressure and vibration testing: interchangeable heads, a replaceable filament cartridge, and a magnet that moves with the carriage past a fixed Hall sensor.

The problem

Studying touch means controlling exactly how a surface is pressed or vibrated. Researchers need an instrument whose contact head, travel and sensing they can understand and change.

Who it’s for

Researchers and product teams exploring tactile sensing and how people respond to touch.

The thinking behind it

SoleSense puts interchangeable contact heads and a replaceable filament cartridge into one handheld assembly. A magnet travels with the carriage past a fixed Hall sensor, turning movement into an electrical reading.

The result

A repeatable, adaptable instrument for tactile testing. R07 brings the whole design together in one assembly, ready to print and fit.
